Track Your Calories Burned: The FitBit Force
So… your on a “diet” plan, and you’re working out, but you still aren’t getting the weight loss you want. The most accurate way to diagnose the problem is to measure how many calories you are expending during the day, and subtract that from how many calories you are eating/drinking each day. They say that difference needs to be 3,500 calories in order to lose one pound of fat.
I love the devices that can measure the calories that you expend each day. The reason why is that you will find out how many calories an intense workout burns, as well as how many calories taking a simple easy walk will burn. I find that my results constantly surprise me.
There are many devices on the market that do this. Some of them attach to your belt (I have lost several of these to the washing machine), others wrap around your upper arm or wrist. My favorite is the Fitbit Force. The reason I like this one is it that it doubles as a watch, I don’t have to recharge it but maybe once a week, it constantly updates itself, and it doesn’t look weird. I can press a button and see how many steps I have walked today (goal: 10,000 per day) and how many calories I have burned so far. Then, at the end of the day, if I haven’t burned enough calories, just hop on the treadmill or head out the door for a pleasant walk until I reach my goal. This is SO MUCH BETTER THAN GUESSING! I hope you enjoy it as well.
